Australia Working Holiday Visas
Working Holiday Visas allow having a holiday and working in Australia up to one year.
There are two Working Holiday Visas :
- Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417)
- Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462)
Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417)
Requirements :
- Be 18 to 30 years old
- Hold a valid passport from an eligible country*
- Have sufficient financial resources to buy return air tickets and ensure all the expenses during the intended stay in Australia (5000 AUD$)
- The applicant must not have dependent children with him/her during the stay in Australia
- Meet the Australian health requirements
- Meet the Australian character requirements
*Eligible countries for the Working Holiday Visa : Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malta, Norway, Sweden and Thailand.
Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462)
Requirements :
- To be 18 to 30 years old
- Hold a valid passport from an eligible country*
- Have sufficient financial resources to buy return air tickets and ensure all the expenses during the intended stay in Australia (5000 AUD$)
- The applicant must not have dependent children with him during the stay in Australia
- Meet the Australian health requirements
- Meet the Australian character requirements
*Eligible countries for the Work and Holiday Visa : Argentina, Bangladesh, Spain, Chile, China, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Thailand, Turkey, United States, Uruguay.
Validity period of Visas :
Once the applicant receives his/her Working Holiday or Work and Holiday Visa, he must validate his/her visa within 12 months. Once he/she is in Australia, the holder of the one of the Working Holiday visas can stay in the country up to 12 months. He/she can travel from and to Australia as many times as wanted during his stay. However, the period of time spent outside Australia is not recoverable.
Conditions :
- The applicant cannot be employed by the same company more than 6 months
- The applicant cannot follow courses more than 4 months
N.B. : Applicants for Working Holiday Visas are eligible only once unless under certain circumstances.
Delay :
The processing time for Working Holiday Visas may be up to 8 weeks.
